The last date to link Aadhaar and Pan Cards is today, December 31, 2025. After this date, any PAN card not linked to Aadhaar will be rendered inactive. In addition, a late fee may also apply. The Income Tax department has also warned that anyone who fails to link their Aadhaar-PAN by this deadline will not be able to use their PAN card for any significant financial transactions.
The deadline to complete the linking process will be December 31, 2025. Any taxpayer who attempts to link their documents after this date will incur a late fee of Rs 1,000.
Users can verify the status of their Aadhaar PAN link by selecting the link Aadhaar status button and entering their PAN and Aadhaar.
In case of errors, the user must go to the UIDAI and UTIITSL portals for correction.
Step 1: On the e-Filing Portal homepage, under Quick Links, click Link Aadhaar Status.
Step 2: Enter your PAN and Aadhaar Number, and click View Link Aadhaar Status.
On successful validation, a message will be displayed regarding your Link Aadhaar Status.
For those whose Aadhaar is connected to another person’s PAN card, they must reach out to their Jurisdictional Assessing Officer and submit a request to have their Aadhaar unlinked from that specific individual’s PAN card. For all new applicants applying for a PAN card, it is now compulsory to use Aadhaar for verification during the application process to eliminate the requirement for any subsequent linking.
