After back to back layoffs by many tech giants in recent times, Google CEO Sundar Pichai’s message was about purpose and momentum to the company's employees.

As the tech industry is facing tough times due to massive layoffs and economic uncertainty Google CEO Sundar Pichai has sent a clear message to employees for 2025 in an internal memo, states media report.

In a recent internal town hall and follow-up memo, Pichai acknowledged the challenges ahead but at the same time urged employees to step up. As there are rapid advancements in AI and huge competition in cloud services, he highlighted  the need for faster innovation, greater efficiency, and stronger leadership within the company.

Pichai shared that the world is looking to Google for responsible innovation and it’s time for teams to rise to that expectation. He called on employees to push their limits, think smarter, and raise the bar in their everyday work. He said, “I think we have to accomplish more.” 

What’s Google’s Next Plan?

Google plans to invest heavily in future technologies like artificial intelligence, climate tech, and building the next generation of search tools. To move faster, Pichai stated the need to streamline internal processes, reduce duplication of efforts, and ensure every project clearly supports the company’s big-picture goals.
Despite the challenges, he wants emplpyees to feel inspired to lead, build, and innovate not just for the company, but for the world that depends on the technology they create.
