Mumbai, September 15: E-commerce giants Amazon India and Flipkart are gearing up for their festive sale this month. It’s that time of the year where both the online majors are all set to roll out their flagship sales in a couple of days.  Amazon India announced that it would begin its Great Indian Festival Sale starting September 21 and will continue till September 24 whereas rival Flipkart’s Big Billion Days sale will begin from September 20 and will last till September 24. Celebrating 10 years of Flipkart this year, the 4th edition of The Big Billion Days this year will bring a billion Indians together and set the tone for the festivities. Snapdeal is also believed to join the sale season. Last year, Snapdeal had witnessed Rs 14,000 crore worth of sales and is estimated to have collected a whopping Rs 500-600 crore. Amazon Great Indian Festival Sale:

The 4-day extravaganza will have a wide range of products for customers to choose from. Amazon Prime members will get early access to the deals, starting at noon September 20. According to details on the company’s website, Amazon India will be offering over 40,000 offers across 4 days, with new deals every hour. It mentions that the sale will see over 500 offers on mobiles and over 2,500 offers on electronic items. As per Amazon, there will be over 10,000 offers on home appliances and 300,000 offers on Amazon Fashion items. During the Amazon Great Indian Festival sale, users will be able to get 10 percent cash back on HDFC debit and credit cards. They will also be able to avail 10 per cent cashback (up to Rs. 500) by using Amazon Pay at a minimum top-up balance Rs 500.  During the sale period, customers will be able to get up to 40 percent discount on mobiles from popular brands that include Apple, OnePlus, Lenovo, LG, Samsung and more. Moreover, laptops will be offered at 20 percent discount while TV sets are believed to be up to 40 percent cheaper. Flipkart’s Big Billion Days Sale

Flipkart will ring in the festive season for its Big Billion Days Sale from September 20 to September 24 and claims that customers will get as much as 90% discount on products across all categories. Along with a marathon of deals and offers specifically designed for Indian needs, shoppers will have access to unique & exclusive selection across more than 80 categories on the back of several exclusive partnerships with leading brands. Under the sale, customers can avail up to 90% off on products across all categories & crazy deals at prices never seen before, offering best-value to help customers to buy more while paying less. SBI Debit & Credit card holders will get an additional 10% instant savings across all platforms (App, Desktop & M-site).

Flipkart stated that categories such as fashion and large appliances have also been revamped. Announcing the dates, Kalyan Krishnamurthy, CEO, Flipkart said, “The Big Billion Days is a celebration for India because it flags off and sets the tone for festive shopping in the country. The online e-retailers have already started to add new warehouses. Reports said that Amazon India nearly doubled its warehouse capacity at 13 million cubic feet by launching its largest warehouse at Jamalpur, Haryana earlier this month. As of December 2016, Amazon India operated 27 warehouses across the country with a 7 million cubic feet capacity. So hurry, do not waste time.
