New Delhi, December 15: As 2017 comes to an end, Google has rolled out its Year in Search 2017 report. Google’s Year in Search offers a unique perspective on the year’s biggest events, top trends reflecting the aspirations and thoughts of India’s online millions. The trends cover the top search queries across categories ranging from ‘How to’, what is, top searched actors, elections and more. Taking into consideration the growing consumer market for smartphones, the Apple iPhone 8 has topped the list followed by iPhone X, Nintendo Switch, Samsung Galaxy S8, Xbox One X and others. The lists are based on search terms that had a high spike in traffic in 2017 as compared to 2016.

In the Global Consumer Tech section, the top trending search in 2017 was for iPhone 8, followed by iPhone X,  Nintendo Switch, Samsung Galaxy S8, Xbox One X, Nokia 3310, Razer Phone, Oppo F5, OnePlus 5 and Nokia 6. Among the global elections section, French Election topped the list followed by German federal election, UK election, Uttar Pradesh election, Georgia special election and more.

Google’s Year in Search 2017 reflected the year’s top news moments that captured India’s attention. Bahubali 2 was the top search across all fields, ‘how to link Aadhaar and PAN card’ was the top ‘how to’ search, Sunny Leone topped the list of most searched entertainers followed by Arshi Khan and     Sapna Choudhary and what is GST topped the ‘what is’ category while Indian Premier League topped the list of sporting events which was then followed by ICC Champions Trophy and Wimbledon.
