Bank Holidays List: In September 2024, banks in several states will be closed for a total of 15 days, including the second and fourth Saturdays and all Sundays. Usually, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) issues a monthly list of bank holidays to help customers plan their banking activities and avoid inconvenience. Check the list of bank holidays for this month.

Bank Holidays in September 2024: Banks to Remain Closed For 15 Days This Month

All banks will remain shut in view of the festivals such as Tirubhav Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva, Ganesh Chaturthi, First Onam, Milad-un-Nabi or Id-e Milad, Indrajatra/Id-e-Milad, Pang-Lhabsol, Friday following Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi, Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day, Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji.

Bank Holidays in September 2024: Check State-Wise List of Bank Holidays

  1. September 1, 2024 (Sunday): Banks will be closed nationwide due to the weekend.
  2. September 4, 2024: In view of Tirubhav Tithi of Srimanta Sankardeva festival, banks will remain shut in Guwahati.
  3. September 7 (Saturday): Banks will be closed in Gujarat, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Orissa, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, and Goa in view of Ganesh Chaturthi.
  4. September 14 (Saturday): Owing to the Karma Puja/First Onam festival, banks will remain closed across the country.
  5. September 16 (Monday): Id-e-Milad – Banks will be closed in Gujarat, Mizoram, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Manipur, Jammu, Kerala, Uttar Pradesh, New Delhi, Chhattisgarh, and Jharkhand.
  6. September 17 (Tuesday): Indrajatra/Id-e-Milad (Milad-Un-Nabi) – Banks will be closed in Sikkim and Chhattisgarh.
  7. September 18 (Wednesday): Pang-Lhabsol – Banks will be closed in Sikkim.
  8. September 20 (Friday): Friday following Eid-i-Milad-ul-Nabi – Banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
  9. September 21 (Saturday): Sree Narayana Guru Samadhi Day – Banks will be closed in Kerala.
  10. September 23 (Monday): Birthday of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji – Banks will be closed in Jammu and Srinagar.
