BSNL broadband plans are cheaper than what competitors like Mukesh Ambani-led Jio Fiber or Sunil Mittal-led Airtel Xstream are offering at this price point.

BSNL Broadband plans: State-owned telecom provider BSNL, which has lately emerged as a strong competitor to private telecom majors, including Sunil Mittal’s Bharti Airtel, and Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio — India’s largest private provider, has now launched a competitive broadband plan to compete with Jio Fiber and Airtel Xstream broadband services.

BSNL’s new broadband plan offers a whopping 5000GB or 5TB of high-speed data at blazing speeds of 300Mbps, beyond which internet speed will be capped at a respectable 30Mbps. Additionally, the plan also offers users free subscriptions to several top OTT apps, including Disney+ Hotstar, Lions Gate, Voot, Sony Live Premium, Zee5 Premium, Hungama as well as Shemaroo Me and Yupp TV.

The most attractive part of the BSNL’s new broadband tariff plan is its price. The plan is priced at just Rs 2,799 a month, which is way cheaper than what competitors like Mukesh Ambani-led Jio Fiber or Sunil Mittal-led Airtel Xstream are offering at this price point.

The plan is perfect for OTT enthusiasts who require large amounts of high-speed data to binge on their favourite web series, movies, news, and sports.

BSNL resurgence

BSNL has witnessed a resurgence of late, reaching several milestones such as adding over 65 lakh new subscribers to its expanding network in two months, according to Department of Telecommunications (DoT). With its competitive pricing, BSNL is now posing a stiff challenge to industry leaders such as Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Jio and Sunil Mittal’s Airtel

“I see a huge opportunity in BSNL,”  Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia was recently quoted as saying while hailing government-owned telco’s revival and expansion. Scindia said BSNL has made a good start by rapidly adding new users due to its customer-friendly tariff plans, adding that the government is making efforts to provide better network connectivity to BSNL users.
