New Delhi: Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) announced a new broadband plan for Rs. 2,499 offering 40GB data per day at 100Mbps speed. The new plan comes with a month’s validity and is available to all users. Apart from one-month validity, it is also offering unlimited voice calling on any network across the country.
Reportedly, the plan falls under BSNL’s Bharat Fibre scheme. It joins the company’s existing fibre-to-the-homes (FTTH) service plans of Rs 777, Rs 1,277, Rs 3,999 and Rs 5,999.
The customers will even get one free email ID and 1GB storage mailbox space. BSNL has also listed cashback offers for the customers who’ll opt the plan for a period of six months to a year. Customers will get 25 per cent cashback on buying the plan for a year as well as on a half-yearly basis.
Customers may, however, note that the speed will reduce to 2Mbps after the daily data consumption. There will be no limit after the Fair Usage Policy (FUP). There will also be a free installation of the FTTH service with the plan. Users may buy the plan by paying the monthly charges.
BSNL’s Bharat Fibre scheme was launched in January 2019. The scheme aims to offer 35GB daily data to the customers at a price as low as Rs 1.1 per GB. This new plan is aimed to compete with Reliance Jio’s GigaFiber broadband plan. The Mukesh Ambani-led company announced the Jio GigaFiber services in August 2018 and is likely to roll out the services soon.
