Elon Musk, the billionaire entrepreneur and CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, is reportedly the father of 13 children with four different women. Musk’s journey as a father includes relationships with Canadian author Justine Wilson, musician Grimes, Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis, and reportedly, author Ashley St. Clair.
Musk and his first wife, Justine Wilson, married in January 2000. In 2002, the couple welcomed their first child, Nevada Alexander Musk, but tragically lost him to sudden infant death syndrome (SIDS) at just 10 weeks old.
After the loss of Nevada, Musk and Wilson turned to IVF. In April 2004, they welcomed twins, Griffin and Vivian Musk, who are now 20 years old.
In 2006, Musk and Wilson expanded their family through IVF once more, welcoming triplets Kai, Saxon, and Damian Musk. Now 19 years old, the trio maintains a relatively private life. Musk and Wilson divorced in 2008.
Musk began dating Canadian musician Grimes in 2018. The couple had their first child, a son named X AE A-XII, in May 2020. Due to California’s naming laws, his name was later adjusted, but he is often referred to as “X.” Musk and Grimes separated in September 2021 and remained in a public custody battle.
In December 2021, Musk and Grimes welcomed their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, via surrogacy. Exa, nicknamed “Y” or “Why,” is now three years old.
In November 2021, Musk welcomed twins, Strider and Azure Musk, with Shivon Zilis, a Neuralink executive. The two-year-olds’ names were made public in September 2023 after a Texas court approved their name change to reflect both parents’ last names.
Musk and Grimes had a third child, Techno Mechanicus Musk, nicknamed ;Tau’ in June 2022. Details about Tau have been kept private.
Musk confirmed the birth of his 12th child in early 2024, but the name and gender remain undisclosed. In late 2024, author Ashley St. Clair claimed that she and Musk welcomed a child together, making this Musk’s 13th child.
Musk is not publicly known to have a current partner. His most recent high-profile relationship was with Grimes, with whom he shares three children.
