New Delhi: The net worth of the world’s richest person, Elon Musk, has surpassed $600 billion (Rs 54.60 lakh crore). Musk has become the first person in the world to reach this net worth figure. Previously, on October 1, Musk’s wealth had reached $500 billion (Rs 45.50 lakh crore).
Following news of SpaceX’s $800 billion (Rs 72.80 lakh crore) valuation and impending IPO, Musk’s wealth increased by approximately $168 billion (Rs 15 lakh crore) in a single day. This is roughly equivalent to the combined net worth of India’s two richest individuals, Mukesh Ambani and Gautam Adani, whose combined wealth is around Rs 16 lakh crore.
Musk’s total net worth is now approximately $638 billion (Rs 58 lakh crore). After an insider share sale, SpaceX has become the world’s most valuable private company.
According to Reuters, an internal share sale valued SpaceX at $800 billion. Musk owns approximately 42% of SpaceX. If the company lists on the US stock market at an $800 billion valuation, the value of Musk’s stake alone could increase by more than $336 billion.
Forbes suggests that if this happens, Musk could become the world’s first trillionaire, although this will depend on a successful IPO listing.
Tesla: In addition to SpaceX, Musk also holds approximately a 12% stake in his EV company, Tesla. Tesla shares have risen 13% so far in 2025. On Monday, December 15, Tesla shares were also up nearly 4% after. Musk’s stake in Tesla is now worth approximately $197 billion.
xAI: His artificial intelligence startup, xAI, is also in advanced talks to raise $15 billion in new equity at a valuation of $230 billion.
