India’s richest man and Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani has re-entered the prestigious $100 billion net worth club. Meanwhile, the world’s richest person, Elon Musk, saw a significant decline in his wealth, losing over $4 billion on Tuesday. Meta Platforms CEO Mark Zuckerberg emerged as the day’s top gainer.
Mukesh Ambani, the wealthiest man in India and Asia, witnessed a $1.30 billion increase in his net worth on Tuesday, taking his total wealth to $100 billion, according to the Bloomberg Billionaires Index. This year, Ambani’s fortune has grown by $3.84 billion. He now ranks 17th among the world’s richest people.
However, shares of Reliance Industries, India’s most valuable company, remain 18% below their July peak. On Wednesday, the stock dropped approximately 0.75%, closing at ₹1,311.35. Analysts have raised concerns about the rising competition from quick commerce in the retail segment. JM Financial has set a target price of ₹1,660 for Reliance’s shares.
Gautam Adani, Chairman of the Adani Group, also saw his wealth increase by $1.39 billion on Tuesday, taking his total net worth to $84 billion. He now ranks 19th on the global rich list. However, his fortune has declined by $264 million this year.
Adani Group has faced turbulence recently, with U.S. prosecutors accusing Gautam Adani and top officials of bribery allegations, which the group has strongly denied. These allegations have impacted the group’s stock performance, particularly Adani Green Energy, which has seen significant declines.
The world’s richest man, Elon Musk, experienced a $4.06 billion drop in his net worth on Tuesday, bringing his total wealth down to $349 billion. Despite the setback, Musk’s fortune has surged by a staggering $120 billion this year, underscoring his dominance in the global wealth rankings.
Mark Zuckerberg, CEO of Facebook’s parent company, Meta Platforms, recorded the largest single-day gain among billionaires. His net worth increased by $7.20 billion on Tuesday, fueled by Meta’s strong performance. Zuckerberg is now the world’s third-richest person with a fortune of $217 billion, trailing Jeff Bezos (ranked second at $234 billion) and Musk.
