‘Indians Taking Our Jobs…’ Says NRI Indian After Laid Off In US; Sparks Debate Over Social Media

Video of an Indian NRI went viral, wherein he blamed his former employer for outsourcing their jobs to Indian residents.

In an ongoing season of layoffs in the technology sector, there is one more story added now, which sparked the discussion  and it’s from an NRI Indian. The man from the USA, who claimed to be laid off, posted a video on a social media platform ‘X’ and said that their jobs are being taken by Indians in India.

After being laid off when he was going through an exit interview, the Indian-origin employee learnt that his company planned to replace him and other employees of his team with the Indian citizens who will work from India for the company.

A techie shared a video where he narrated the whole incident of his exit interview. “If you keep me around I’m already Indian, right? We can get rid of these crackers and replace them with my friends.” he told his company. However, the employers  said, “No, no, no, you don’t get it. We are getting rid of you. We are moving the job to India to be done by Indians from India, who will do it cheaper there.”

The post has gone viral and been watched by over 3.5 million people. Many users reacted over it, wherein some of them supported him & few also trolled him over his comments.

One user said ,’’It’s not that you’re Indian it’s that you are now 90% less expensive.’’

Another said, ‘’It’s all about the money.  They will work for way less in India.  It’s not even close.  We can’t compete with India, or China when it comes to how little they can survive with over there.’’

Whereas user named Arun said, USA companies outsource less important jobs. He added ,’’If you look closely, it’ll be a low impact, repetitive or simple job. The US keeps valuable or highly important jobs here. Just like the designers here make more money out of iphone than the hardware manufacturers in China or India.’’
