Infosys, TCS Hiring: IT companies like Infosys, TCS have launched their hiring programme after several layoffs in the industry. As part of its campus placement drive, Infosys has launched a ‘power programme’ where the company will hire from different colleges.
According to a report in The Economic Times, the pay package for freshers can go up to Rs 9 lakh. As compared to other IT companies, packages for entry level software engineers which ranges within Rs 3-3.5 lakh, the package Infosys is giving is way too high.
In the April to June period, Infosys’ headcount was dropped by neary 2,000, reducing its strength to 315,332.
The company’s entry-level fresher pay packages are between ₹3-3.5 lakh but this program is different from the regular hiring. According to the same report by Economic Times, a source told the newspaper, “The focus of these categories of hiring is on coding and software challenges, programming skill testing and other specialised skill tests for both tests and interviews. For Infosys, these pay packages offered are between ₹4-6.5 lakh and ₹9 lakh.”
Infosys had plans to hire 15,000-20,000 graduates in FY25. Jayesh Sanghrajka, chief financial officer at Infosys during the company’s first post June quarter (Q1) earnings conference call last month, had said “As you know, in the last multiple quarters, we have moved to the agile hiring base. That basically means we hire freshers both from the campus and off the campus.”
TCS also has a similar hiring program that aims to hire around 40,000 freshers. TCS offers freshers three categories of packages: ‘Ninja’ at Rs 3.6 lakh, ‘Digital’ at Rs 7.5 lakh, and ‘Prime’ at Rs 9-11 lakh. The ‘Prime’ programme, launched last year, has expanded to include AI, generative AI, and machine learning.
