After a long weekend, investors are confused whether the stock market will be closed or opened on Monday, (19th August) Over Raksha Bandhan 2024. Share market already had a holiday on 15th August over Independence day last week. Then it was closed on 17th & 18th August over its weekend holiday.
But the stock market will not have long weekend holidays until 19th August. Share market will remain operational on 19th August 2024 during its regular hours & will not presume any holiday over Rakshabandhan 2024.
As per NSE & BSE stock market holidays list, there is just one trading holiday in August that fell on 15th August 2024. After 15th August 2024, the next trading holiday falls on 2nd October 2024. This means the Indian stock market will remain open on Monday 19th August 2024.
Investors can also go to the BSE website — bseindia.com and click on the ‘Trading Holidays’ option on the top. After clicking the ‘Trading Holidays’ option, the complete list of stock market holidays in 2024 is opened.
Commodity market trading will also be operational for the entire day on August 19. This includes both the Commodity Derivatives Segment and Electronic Gold Receipts (EGR) Segment on the BSE, as well as all bullion, metals, and energy derivatives trading on the Multi Commodity Exchange of India Limited (MCX), for both the morning and evening sessions will remain operational in regular hours.
The next stock market holiday is on October 2 on account of Gandhi Jayanti. After the October 2 closure for Gandhi Jayanti, the market will also be closed on November 1 for Diwali.
