Light Rail Transit Service From Noida International Airport To Pari Chowk To Become Reality Soon; Details
The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) is gearing up to revolutionize transportation in the region by introducing a Light Rail Transit (LRT) system from Noida International Airport to Pari Chowk. This ambitious project aims to enhance connectivity and streamline travel for residents and commuters in the area.
To kickstart this project, YEIDA has commissioned two companies to conduct a feasibility study and prepare a detailed report. Dr. Arunveer Singh, CEO of YEIDA, highlighted the ongoing efforts to enhance multi-modal connectivity in the Yamuna City area, extending up to the airport. Siemens and IPRCL have been entrusted with the task of preparing the feasibility report for the light rail system. The reports are expected to be submitted by June 30
The proposed light trains are designed with specialized wheels and bodies that enable cost-effective construction. These trains, manufactured by over 100 companies globally, boast speeds of up to 80 kilometers per hour, ensuring swift and convenient travel for passengers.
Initially, plans were in place to introduce pod taxis in the industrial sectors of Yamuna City. However, following the approval of the Rapid Rail proposal, the pod taxi project was shelved in favor of the Light Rail Transit system along the Yamuna Expressway.
