LPG, PNG Prices City Wise: Domestic cooking gas prices increased by Rs 29 per cylinder. The OMCs increased the prices of 19 kg commercial cylinders on June 1 by Rs 42 to Rs 53.50 per cylinder.

LPG, PNG Prices Today: The Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs) have not changed the prices of petrol, diesel, domestic and commercial cylinders on Monday amid rising crude oil prices in the global markets due to ongoing tensions in West Asia. The last revision was done for the 14.2 kg cylinders on June 7, which marked the second increase in the domestic cylinders. The OMCs increased the prices of commercial LPG cylinders by over 79 percent during the same period. However, global markets took a sigh of relief after the United States and Iran signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to end the war. The Trump administration informed that it had lifted the maritime blockade on all commercial ships entering and exiting Iranian ports, including the strategic Strait of Hormuz.
Oil tankers and other commercial vessels have resumed passage via the crucial Strait of Hormuz as the US lifted its blockade from Iran coasts. Both US and Iran has 60 days to finalise the peace talks to end the war. The talks include agreement on Iran's nuclear programme along with other financial incentives.

Government Plans Larger Crude Oil Reserves Amid LPG Cost Surge And Supply Concerns
According to a report, domestic refiners may be instructed by the central government to maintain larger crude oil inventories to address potential future supply concerns. The Centre said that the cost of supplying a domestic LPG cylinder has increased to Rs 1,600 due to ongoing surges in international markets due to the ongoing West Asia conflict.
Industry sources said that the recent price hike has only partially reduced the losses on domestic LPG cylinder sales. Before the revision, OMCs were reportedly incurring losses of around Rs 703 per LPG cylinder sold.
Will Petrol, Diesel Prices Be Cut As Crude Oil Prices Ease?
According to Joint Secretary in the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas Sujata Sharma, "As you know, the price of crude went up to USD 120 per barrel. Now it is coming down. The government is seized of the matter and appropriate decisions regarding retail prices will continue to be taken in line with the evolving international situation."
It is worth noting that India imports nearly 90 percent of its crude oil requirements from the middle eastern countries, including Iran. The import makes India heavily dependent on the guld countries and any blockade on the Strait can directly impact its energy needs.
