Elon Musk, the world’s richest, continues to witness an enormous decline in massive fortune, losing a staggering $22.2 billion (about Rs 193394 crore), in a single day. According to market data, Musk’s net worth dropped to $364.3 billion after Tesla Inc. shares, which contribute a major chunk to Musk’s fortune, plummeted due to declining sales in Europe.
The Tesla CEO has lost over $100 billion in net worth is just 75 days, since December 18 last year, including $11 billion being wiped out from his vast fortune on Saturday (February 22). According to details, Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla and SpaceX, has suffered an erosion of 11 percent to his net worth so far this year, and lost over $100 billion since December 18, 2024, which is more than the total net worth of Mukesh Ambani, Asia’s richest man.
Tesla shares fell by 8.4 percent in New York, its market cap dipping below $1 trillion for the first time since November 7 last year, leading to Musk witnessing his fourth-largest single-day rout of his fortune. As per Tesla’s 2024 proxy statement, Elon Musk owns a 13% stake in the company, making it a major contributor to his overall wealth.
However, despite the gargantuan rout of his fortune, Elon Musk remains the richest man in the world, boasting a net worth of $364.3 billion, which is more than double the combined net worth of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani, and Adani Group owner Gautam Adani, two of India’s wealthiest individuals.
Elon Musk, whose wealth surged exponentially, reaching close to the $500 billion mark in mid-December, after Donald Trump won the 2024 US Presidential Election in November, has witnessed a rapid decline in his fortune, due to Tesla shares witnessing a decline of more than 23 percent, or over $100, since the beginning of 2025.
As per market data, Musk’s total wealth had reached an all-time high of $485 billion on December, however, since then, the tech billionaire has lost a whopping $101 billion, more than the total net worth of India’s richest man, Mukesh Ambani. The Tesla CEO has witnessed a decline of $52 billion so far in 2025.
Elon Musk has lost $101 billion or Rs 8.75 lakh crore in just 75 days since December 18, which comes down to losing Rs 12,000 crore per day, Rs 486 crore per hour, or around Rs 8 crore per minute!
