As Gautam Adani, the second-richest man in Asia, has become 62 years old, attention has shifted to the four heirs who can inherit his US$213 billion empire. Will it be Karan Adani, Jeet Adani, Pranav Adani Or Sagar Adani? These four family members are already making their mark in the business, from redeveloping Asia’s largest slum to building one of the world’s most ambitious renewable energy parks.
While Bloomberg reported that Gautam Adani had outlined his succession plans, the company later clarified that he had been misquoted. The report suggested that leadership would be passed to his two sons and two nephews by the early 2030s, and that they would have equal beneficial interest in the family trust. However, Adani’s representatives denied the time frame and clarified that Gautam had only mentioned the involvement of the four men in various Adani Group businesses.
Karan Adani is the Managing Director of Adani Ports and SEZ Limited, Karan studied economics at Purdue University. He has been instrumental in leading the ports business and driving its growth.
Karan Adani told Bloomberg that, while his family is now among the world’s wealthiest, his childhood was marked by struggles. He saw his parents working tirelessly and the Adanis were able to build their empire. He emphasized that their success is built on valuing what they have.
Jeet Adani is the director of Adani Airports, who has graduated from the University of Pennsylvania’s School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. He oversees the company’s expanding airport portfolio.
Pranav Adani is the Managing Director of the agro, oil, and gas sectors, Pranav holds a degree in business administration from Boston University. He is leading the redevelopment of Dharavi, Mumbai’s largest slum, with an ambitious plan to improve living conditions for its residents. Pranav aims to transform the slum and improve living conditions for its residents.
Sagar Adani is the Executive Director of Adani Green Energy Limited, Sagar studied economics at Brown University. He is spearheading the creation of a renewable energy park, a project so vast it will be visible from space. Sagar is currently the only bachelor among the four heirs.
