Rishad Premji leads Wipro and upholds a legacy of simplicity, innovation, and service to society which he has taken from his father Azim Premji.

Rishad Premji, much like his father Azim Premji, is known for his simplicity and grounded approach to life. In August 2005, Rishad married his childhood friend Aditi in a modest ceremony that reflected these values. The current Chairman of Wipro, Rishad, has not only inherited the leadership of one of India’s largest IT companies but also its legacy of strong ethical principles and a focus on social responsibility.

Rishad Premji’s Professional Journey

Before taking over as Chairman, Rishad served as the Chief Strategy Officer at Wipro, where he played a crucial role in managing investor relations and government affairs. He has also held the prestigious position of Chairman of NASSCOM during 2018-19.

Rishad’s professional journey began at Bain & Company, a global management consultancy firm in the United States. A graduate of Harvard Business School, Rishad is also a music enthusiast and an avid reader.

Rishad Premji Interfaith Marriage With Aditi

Breaking all the religious barriers,  Rishad’s married to Aditi who was his friend. He married Aditi in a very simple ceremony in the year 2005. Aditi studied with Rishad at Harvard Business School. Rishad has two children, Rohan and Riya. 

Rishad is very fond of reading and listening to music. His grandfather was a well-known rice trader of India. Premji’s childhood was spent in Mumbai. His personal life reflects the same simplicity and humility instilled by his father, Azim Premji.

Leadership At Wipro and Azim Premji Foundation

As Chairman, Rishad is also on the board of the Azim Premji Foundation, the philanthropic arm of Wipro. The foundation is dedicated to improving the quality of education in government schools across India. It operates in seven states and works with over 3,50,000 government schools.

During the COVID-19 crisis, Wipro and the Azim Premji Foundation contributed a massive Rs 1125 crore in donations to support relief efforts, further solidifying their commitment to social welfare.
