Deepinder Goyal met Kanchan Joshi during their student days at IIT Delhi, where they both studied in the Mathematics and Computing department. Kanchan was pursuing her MSc, and their shared academic setting brought them closer.
“I chased her for six months,” Deepinder recalled in an interview with Forbes India. Both began dating and tied the knot in 2007.
Their bond grew stronger over the years, and in 2008, Deepinder co-founded Zomato with his close friend Pankaj Chaddah. Their family expanded in 2013 with the birth of their daughter, Sitara. Reflecting on their life together, Deepinder added, “We understand each other very well. We haven’t fought in years.” But the couple divorced later on.
Kanchan Joshi, now an accomplished Assistant Professor of Mathematics at Delhi University, has led her own path of success. She holds a BSc in Mathematics from Delhi University, an MSc from IIT Delhi, and a PhD in Mathematics from IIT Delhi, showing her command over excellence.
Years later, Deepinder’s life took a new turn when he met Grecia Munoz, a former Mexican model, through a mutual friend during one of her visits to Delhi. Sharing this phase of his life on The Kapil Sharma Show, Deepinder said, “I was single for the longest time. My friends often set me up on dates and advised me not to settle down.”
However, when a friend introduced him to Grecia, everything changed. “He said, ‘You should meet her—you’ll end up marrying her.’” The instant connection between Deepinder and Grecia led to a blossoming relationship, culminating in marriage and marking a fresh chapter in his personal life.
