Deepinder Goyal, the founder and CEO of Zomato, recently opened up about his love story with his 2nd wife, Gia Goyal (formerly Grecia Munoz), during an appearance on The Great Indian Kapil Show. In a candid conversation, Goyal shared how fate and a friend’s foresight played a role in their union.
Deepinder revealed that he was introduced to Gia, a former Mexican model, by a friend in New Delhi. Reflecting on the moment, he said, “I was single for the longest time. My friends often set me up on dates but always advised me not to settle down. When Grecia came to Delhi, one of my friends called me and said, ‘There’s someone you should meet. You’ll end up marrying her.’”
Intrigued, Deepinder agreed to meet Gia, and the rest is history. The couple tied the knot earlier this year, marking a new chapter in Deepinder’s life. Gia moved to India and has since been actively involved in Zomato’s operations. In a heartwarming gesture, the couple participated in a social experiment by delivering food as Zomato delivery agents, donning matching T-shirts and interacting with customers across the city.
Deepinder also shared a lighthearted moment during the show, admitting that Zomato’s creative app notifications are inspired by his romantic messages to Gia. He quipped, “Sometimes, the notifications are just my love notes to Gia, cleverly reimagined by our marketing team.”
