Adar Poonawalla, CEO of Serum Institute of India (SII), had reportedly purchased London’s most expensive house of 2023. The property, Aberconway House, is a century-old mansion near Hyde Park and is valued atRs.1,446 crore. This makes it the second most expensive home ever sold in London, after 2-8a Rutland Gate, which was sold for £210 million in 2020.
The mansion was sold by Dominika Kulczyk, daughter of the late Polish industrialist Jan Kulczyk. Though the property will be used by the Poonawalla family and company during their stays in the UK, they have “no plans” to relocate permanently.
Aberconway House, built in the 1920s, is located in the heart of London near the iconic Hyde Park. It has gained fame for its extravagant price and historic significance. Despite its hefty price tag, it ranks second among London’s priciest home sales, with the top spot held by 2-8a Rutland Gate, sold in January 2020 for a staggering £210 million.
Adar Poonawalla, son of Cyrus Poonawalla, wealth is estimated at $22.1 billion according to Forbes. He studied at St Edmund’s School in Canterbury, The Bishop’s School in Pune, and later pursued biotechnology and management at the University of Westminster in London.
