At the age of 80, a man has broken billionaire circles, his name is not familiar to many. He suddenly became the talk of the town after his wealth skyrocketed in a week.
Larry Ellison is the co-founder of Oracle. It is one of the world’s largest database software companies. In recent weeks in a sudden move Larry has become the second richest person in the world. In just one week, he earned $40 billion (Rs 3.4 trillion), overtaking Amazon’s Jeff Bezos ($229 billion) and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg ($240 billion). He is just one step behind Tesla CEO Elon Musk in wealth.
According to Forbes’ real-time billionaire list, Larry Ellison’s net worth surged to $250.9 billion after Oracle’s superb quarterly performance. The company reported revenue of $15.9 billion and adjusted profits of $1.70 per share. With a 41% stake in Oracle, Ellison’s fortune has seen a rapid increase.
Ellison’s recent wealth surge is directly related to Oracle’s results. The company’s growth in cloud computing increased its stock prices upward and also pushed Ellison’s place among the world’s wealthiest individuals.
Despite his immense wealth, Ellison is not known to the people as compared to other billionaires like Elon Musk, Jeff Bezos, or Mukesh Ambani. He enjoys his luxurious life, on a private island and military aircraft, but stays away from social media.
