Mukesh Ambani’s daughter Isha Ambani struck a major deal with the US footwear brand, Timberland, which is all set to return to the Indian market. Now, the leading footwear brands are going to witness a healthy competition in the segment.

The brand will cater to Indian customers through online platform, Ajio. The leading footwear companies like Woodland and others will have to come up with a strategy to consolidate their customer base once the US brand begins selling its product and pulling customers.

Timberland had to close its retail stores in the country after witnessing a tough competition in the Indian market and a legal dispute with a leading brand. 

Reliance has come up with a strategy to strengthen its presence with brands like H&M and Timberland on its online platform. Reliance had signed a licensing and distribution agreement with Timeberland in 2009.

Reliance Retail Ventures has released its quarter results on October 14. The company reported that its net profit surged by 1.3 percent  at Rs 2386 crore in July-September quarter. The company’s revenue was Rs 66,502 crore.
