There is a significant number of individuals around the world who have a strong desire to own high-end luxury car models. Some individuals even go overboard and spend hefty amounts of money on unique and exclusive number plates for their vehicles. Though Ambani and Adani are among the wealthiest individuals in India, it is surprising that they do not own the most expensive number plate in India. So, who owns the number plate? Read this article to know more. Well, Venu Gopalakrishnan, a tech company CEO from Kerala, holds this title.
Venu Gopalakrishnan, the CEO of Litmus7, has bought a new luxury car to add to his car collection. According to the media reports, he purchased a Lamborghini Urus Performante for around Rs 4 crore. However, what catches attention is not the car, it is the number plate. The car bears the registration KL 07 DG 0007. According to media reports, Venu spent Rs 45.99 lakh for the rare plate, which so far is the most expensive number plate in India.
This lavish expense has created history in the state of Kerala as the highest vehicle registration number cost in history.
On April 7, 2025, the Motor Vehicles Department of the State of Kerala conducted an online auction. Gopalakrishnan, the founder and CEO of an IT company called Litmus7 Systems Consulting Pvt. Ltd. based in Kochi, won the highly sought-after 007 registration number made famous by car enthusiasts. The bidding commenced at Rs 25,000. The ‘0007’ number, inspired by the iconic James Bond code, adds a unique touch of exclusivity to Gopalakrishnan’s latest luxury car purchase.
The lime-green Lamborghini Urus Performante, worth around Rs 4 crore, is allegedly the first of its kind in Kerala. Gopalakrishnan posted a video on Instagram of his latest luxury car. He is also well known for his luxury car collection, including a Lamborghini Huracan Sterrato and a BM1000 XR bike. The purchase reflects the increasing trend of personalized luxury, with unique registration numbers considered status symbols.
