Nestle’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Laurent Freix has been removed from his post by the company after an internal investigation. The investigation revealed that Laurent Freix had a romantic relationship with an employee. Which was considered a violation of the business code of conduct by the company. After the matter came to light, he was immediately removed from his post. After this, the company took immediate action and appointed Nespresso CEO Philippe Navratil as the new CEO of Nestle.
CEO removed from post after investigation
The company that makes KitKat chocolate bars and coffee has clarified that Laurent Freix has been removed from the post of CEO after an investigation. It is against the company’s website code of conduct to reveal a romantic relationship with an employee. To ensure that the company’s operations are not affected, Nespresso CEO Philippe Navratil has been given the responsibility to take over along with other members of his board.
This investigation was conducted by the board members under the supervision of lawyer and lead independent director Pablo Isla. Chairman Paul Bulcke says that the company’s foundation is strong, so it was very important to take this decision. Laurent has served the company for years. For which the company thanks him. But he is being removed from service due to his conduct.

Laurent Freix joined Nestle in 1986. He was involved in the company’s European operations until 2014. Before becoming the CEO of the company, he was the head of Latin America influence. He has contributed to the growth of Nestle. Talking about Nestle’s new Chief Executive Officer Navratil, he has been the Executive Vice President at Nestle, whose headquarters are located in Vevey on Lake Geneva.
Company’s share dip
Nestle’s share price slumped by nearly a quarter last year. Its shares closed up 0.13 percent at 75.49 Swiss francs on the Swiss stock exchange. In late July, Nestle reported a 10.3-percent drop in first half profits as it struggled to turn around its fortunes amid sluggish consumer spending in China, even as it passed on higher cocoa and coffee prices to consumers.
