New Delhi, May 17: Chinese smartphone player OnePlus launched its next flagship OnePlus 6 in India today. OnePlus 6 was unveiled in London on Wednesday. In India, OnePlus 6 was launched in Mumbai and the “OnePlus Community” was be the first to try out the device at the experience zone at the launch venue. The device will be available for pre-bookings for “Amazon Prime Members” from May 21. The company hosted a live streaming of OnePlus 6 India launch event on its YouTube channel. OnePlus 6 has an aspect ratio of 19:9 and comes with an iPhone X-like notch. The 6.3-inch smartphone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo with Oxygen OS on top. OnePlus 6, which will be available in three variants – 64GB storage with 6GB RAM, 128GB storage with 8 GB RAM, and 256GB storage paired with 8 GB RAM, comes with supporting dash charging technology and 3300mAh battery. An all-glass design body is something which makes OnePlus 6 unique. The device has Gorilla Glass 5 level protection and is claimed to be shatter-proof. “OnePlus 6’s glass design is centred around creating a ‘sense of value’ and ‘premium hand-feel’ and the glass back contains five printed layers of ‘Nanotech Coating’, a first in the smartphone industry,” Pete Lau, Founder and CEO, OnePlus, said in a blog post last month. OnePlus 5T, powered by Snapdragon 835 chipset, was launched last year in two variants, 6GB RAM with 64GB onboard storage and 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage, priced at Rs 32,999 and Rs 37,999, respectively.
