The government is set to release the 18th installment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme on October 5, 2024. This initiative supports small and marginal farmers by providing them with Rs. 6,000 annually, which is distributed in three equal installments of Rs. 2,000 each. The last installment was disbursed on June 18, 2024, by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. This scheme aims to alleviate financial stress for farmers and enhance their livelihood.
The PM-KISAN scheme aims to provide essential income support to small and marginal farmers across India. Farmers who own up to 2 hectares of land are eligible to receive benefits under this program.
To ensure timely support, the funds are directly transferred to the farmers’ bank accounts. This approach not only facilitates immediate financial assistance but also enhances transparency and reduces delays in disbursement, ultimately helping farmers improve their livelihoods and invest in their agricultural activities.
Farmers can check their eligibility and even if they are already enrolled in the scheme through the following steps:
To continue receiving PM-KISAN benefits, farmers must complete their eKYC.
Ensuring that the eKYC is up to date will prevent any disruptions in receiving future payments.
