PM Modi in Varanasi Today to Release 17th instalment of PM Kisan Yojana: Check Full Schedule

Varanasi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is in Uttar Pradesh’s Varanasi on Tuesday to release the 17th installment of the PM KISAN scheme. The 17th installment of the PM KISAN scheme will be released in a short while. Over 9.26 crore farmers will receive more than Rs 20,000 crore benefits from the PM Kisan Yojana. Apart from this, PM Modi will also release certificates to over 30,000 SHGs trained as Krishi Sakhis, who will work as para extension workers.

PM Modi’s visit to Varanasi is likely to last about 4.5 hours. He will land at the Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport in Babatpur around 4 PM and then will attend the PM Kisan Samman Sammelan around 5 PM. He will release an instalment of Samman Nidhi, which will benefit 2,76,665 farmers in Kashi. Then he will meet 21 farmers and review their produce.

  • PM Modi will participate in PM Kisan Samman Sammelan in Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh at 5PM.
  • PM Modi will witness Ganga Aarti at Dashashwamedh Ghat around 7 PM.
  • PM Modi will also perform pooja and darshan at Kashi Vishwanath Temple around 8 PM.

PM Kisan Yojana: All You Need To Know

More than 2.5 crore farmers will join the event including those at 732 Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs), over 1 lakh Primary Agricultural Cooperative Societies, and 5 lakh Common Service Centres across the country, the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare stated on Monday.

Launched on February 24, 2019, the PM-KISAN scheme offers financial aid to all land-holding farmers subject to certain exclusion criteria of higher income status. Financial benefit of Rs 6,000/- per year in three equal instalments, every four months, is transferred into the bank accounts of farmers’ families across the country through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) mode.

Till now over Rs 3.04 lakh crores has been disbursed to more than 11 crore farmers across the nation and with this release, the total amount transferred to the beneficiaries since the inception of the scheme will cross well over Rs 3.24 lakh crores.
