Reliance Giga Factory: Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance Industries is building the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex in Gujarat’s Jamnagar, a gigantic project that will dwarf Elon Musk’s Tesla Giga Factory, and can house as many as 100 Eiffel Towers.
Reliance’s Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex is the world’s most comprehensive and integrated new energy ecosystem, which will be powered entirely by green energy. Once operational, Reliance’s Giga Complex will be unmatched in size, scale and global integration, as the futuristic AI-powered smart factories will help the boost the company’s efficiency and surge ahead of global peers in terms of technological prowess.
The Giga factories will churn out products that can provide unlimited renewable energy, and also produce green chemicals such as green ammonia, e-methanol and sustainable aviation fuel.
According to various reports, the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex is being built upon 44 million square feet of building area, which is four times larger than the Tesla Giga Factory. The construction of the gigantic project is estimated to have used 34 lakh cubic meters of concrete, and seven lakh tons of steel, which is equivalent to 100 Eiffel Towers.
Over 50,000 workers were employed in the construction of the massive complex, while around one lakh km of cable was laid, enough to reach the moon and back.
Speaking about the project, Anant Ambani, the youngest son of billionaire Mukesh Ambani, said the Dhirubhai Ambani Green Energy Giga Complex will make Reliance the world’s only fully-integrated company to play a leading role in the new energy sector. The mega project is designed to revolutionise India’s energy sector, and will also make the country energy-independent, he added.
