Mumbai, April 17: Mukesh Ambani led-Reliance Jio has initiated the process of disconnecting the Jio number of users who still haven’t recharged their numbers under any of the Jio plans. The disconnecting process has however not gained momentum as it is happening in a phased manner and the user base is huge. Services to users who haven’t even opted for any plans are active for some time now but, wait there! the free services will soon be disconnected.

Earlier this month, the new entrant in telecom sector, Reliance Jio had announced a new offer for people who hadn’t signed up for its Summer Surprise offer. The offer was named as Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer which was similar to the Summer Surprise Offer. Under the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer, the company gave its users 3 months of 1GB per day usage. This offer was applicable to anyone who recharges for Rs. 309, plus another Rs. 99 to subscribe for Jio Prime.

When Jio announced this offer, it mentioned that the users will need to subscribe to Jio Prime membership plan and buy the Rs. 309 or Rs. 509 recharge by April 15 in order to to avoid discontinuation of its services. Jio extended the deadline for signing up to Jio Prime to April 15, up from March 31.

The disconnection process has gradually begun and should not be a shocking news for its users as the company had already extended its free services date till April 15. Some Jio users have already started receiving messages to recharge their number in order to continue using existing Jio’s services, Gadgets 360 reported. But there is no need to panic. Users who still haven’t taken any plan as yet should visit a nearby Jio store or check the Jio website or MyJio app and find suitable plans.

Moreover, any Reliance Jio user who has not recharged under any such plan can still avail benefits under the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer along with Jio Prime. The Dhan Dhana Dhan offer was launched exclusively for Jio Prime members. Under this offer, Jio gives its users 84 days of unlimited data benefits at a recharge of Rs 309 or Rs 509. Users who recharge with Rs 309 will get 1GB data per day, while those recharging with Rs 509 will get 2GB data per day with additional benefits like free voice calls, unlimited SMS.

How does Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer work?

  • The users under the Jio Dhan Dhana Dhan offer will be able to get the free Reliance Jio services for 84 days with the Rs. 309 and Rs. 509 recharges.
  • This offer is mainly targeted at customers who were unable to avail the Jio Summer Surprise offer benefits before it was pulled officially by TRAI.
  • In order to avail the benefits, customers who are yet to sign up for Jio Prime or who are new users will have to buy the Rs. 408 (Rs. 99 Jio Prime subscription + Rs. 309 pack) or Rs. 608 (Rs. 99 + Rs. 509) recharge.
  • Once the recharge is done, the customer can use Reliance Jio services for 84 days. The tariffs are only marginally more expensive than the original recharge values of Rs. 303 and Rs. 499 for the 1GB and 2GB data benefits, respectively.

Here is what you can do, if your number gets disconnected, all you need to do is go to a Jio store or check the Jio website or MyJio app, and pay Rs. 408 (Rs. 99 for Prime, and Rs. 309 for the offer) to get 84 days of data use. The telco had earlier said that the last date for subscribing to Prime would be March 31. This offer was however extended to April 15.

The telecom company claims it is one of the most successful customer privilege programmes anywhere in the world. Ambani’s Jio claims that it has notched an unprecedented 72 million paid subscribers in the past few months. After the April 15 deadline came to an end, Jio users knew that the time had come where all the free services for all these months will now become paid. For this, Jio had already given enough time to its users for purchasing its rock-bottom priced Rs 303 plan.
