EU Clears Mukesh Ambani-Led Reliance’s Rs 855 Crore Joint Venture: What comes as good news for Mukesh Ambani is that the European Union has given a greenlight to the proposed joint venture between Reliance and Mark Zuckerberg’s Meta Platforms. Both companies joined hands to build enterprise-focused artificial intelligence (AI) solutions, ET Now reported Friday. The joint venture of the two big companies was announced in August during Reliance’s Annual General Meet (AGM). In the meeting, it was announced that RIL will invest Rs 855 crore in the joint venture, holding a 70 percent stake, and Meta a 30 percent stake. The plan is that the entity will utilise Meta’s open-source Llama models and RIL’s reach to offer its services in AI tools across different sectors.
The mega partnership if going to focus on two key offerings – an enterprise AI platform-as-a-service that allows organisations to personalise and implement generative AI models, and a collection of pre-set solutions designed for sectors like sales, marketing, IT operations, customer service, and finance.
Mark Zuckerberg’s company is going to contribute its technical expertise in developing Llama-based models. On the other hand RIL will contribute its digital infrastructure and access to thousands of Indian enterprises. The solutions will be developed for use in cloud, on-premises, and hybrid environments, aiming to reduce the overall cost of ownership.
