The world’s biggest tech leaders are no longer just business figures, they are now closely watched by politicians, society, and the public. Because of this growing attention, their spending on personal security has reached record levels. Experts say the danger is no longer just from business rivals or unhappy employees. Issues like data misuse, mass layoffs, their huge personal wealth, and their influence in politics have made these tech leaders easy targets for public anger.

Security expenses for tech CEOs

In 2024, the top 10 tech company CEOs have spent around Rs. 369 crore on personal security. The biggest share of this cost comes from Mark Zuckerberg, who has spent about Rs. 221 crore to protect himself and his family.

Elon Musk is also taking no chances as he now travels with a team of 20 private security guards.

Jensen Huang, the CEO of Nvidia has also tightened his security. His rapidly growing wealth and active role in AI-related politics have made him a potential target, increasing concerns about his safety.
