Stock Market focus will be mainly on Budget 2024 which will be presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in Parliament today. It is her seventh consecutive budget which is likely to focus on changes in the income tax structure and improving the ease of doing business in India.
At 11 am today, the much-awaited full budget for 2024-25, the first under the Modi 3.0 government, will be presented on the floor of the Parliament.
Nifty settles below 24,500
Sensex settles marginally lower, down 70 pts
The company records a net profit of Rs 513 crore against Rs 353 crore year-on-year (YoY).
ITC jumps 5% as govt keeps sin tax unchanged
Sensex plunged 1.09 % or 876.39 points to 9,625.69, while the Nifty fell 1.09% or by 267.30 points to 24,241.95.
Sensex tanks 1,266.17 points to 79,235.91 after FM hikes STT on F&O; Nifty tumbles 435.05 points to 24,074.20.
Railway stocks fall up to 9%:
RailTel (-4.36%), IRFC ((-4.84%), IRCON (-6.58%), RVNL (-5.4%), RITES (-4.6%), IRCTC (-3.8%), Titagrah (-8.6%), Tecmaco Rail (-6.9%), Concor (-2.41%)
Nifty Smallcap fell more than 5%, Nifty Midcap 100 declined over 3.5%, and Nifty Microcap 250 index register losses over 3.5%
Mahindra Holidays, EaseMyTrip, IRCTC, and other tourism-related stocks are in focus after FM announced tourism will be promoted in Rajgir, Gaya, Nalanda, and Banaras.
