Indian stock indices – Sensex and Nifty – closed at a record high on Monday, extending the gains accumulated over the past several weeks.
Sensex settled at 80,664.86 points, up 0.2 per cent, while Nifty settled at 24,586.70 points, up 0.4 per cent. Among sectoral indices, PSU banks surged the most at 3.07 per cent, followed by Nifty media at 1.53 per cent, Nifty pharma at 1.13 per cent, Nifty realty at 1.34 per cent.
Nifty50 too ended the session in the green at 24,613, 26.30 points or 0.11 per cent higher.
BSE Sensex closed today’s session at 80,716.55, up 51.69 points or 0.06 per cent.
Bajaj Auto reported a net profit of Rs 1,988 crore in Q1 FY25, a 19.4% increase from Rs 1,665 crore in the same quarter last year.
Ratings agency Crisil on Tuesday declared a dividend of Rs 8 per share.
