The Supreme Court on Tuesday in a landmark judgment declared Aadhaar as Constitutionally valid. The apex court also said that it not mandatory to link your bank account and mobile number with Aadhaar number. Similarly, schools and private companies cannot ask you for Aadhaar number. A five-judge constitution bench headed by Chief Justice Dipak Misra gave the verdict today after listening to arguments of both the sides. The judgement has also raised a question on how people can delink their bank accounts and wallets with financial services, if two are already linked. If you want to delink Aadhaar with your account here are a few things you need to do:

Step 1
Call on the customer care number of the bank or mobile wallets to share your concern.

Step 2
The company’s representative will send you an e-mail to unlink your Aadhaar.

Step 3
The email will ask you to attach a scanned copy of your Aadhaar. You need to reply back with the required copy of Aadhaar card

Step 4
You will receive a a mail confirming the delinking of your Aadhaar within 72 hours from the bank or the mobile wallet company.
