TCS emerges biggest gainer amid Tata Group power tussle

TCS--India's largest IT services exporter, emerged as the biggest gainer, as the combined market cap (mcap) of eight of country's top-10 most valued firms surged by Rs 1,94,148.73 crore, in line with an optimistic trend at the Dalal Street.

TCS' strong showing at the stock market comes amid the ongoing power tussle within Tata Trusts-- the majority shareholder of Tata Group's holding company, Tata Sons-- which has essentially divided the salt-to-semiconductor conglomerate into two opposing camps.

According to reports, the current power tussle within the Tata Group stems from board appointments, access to information, and Tata Sons' long-delayed listing plans, which has resulted in a purported dispute between the trustees. A key meeting of the Tata Sons' board is scheduled to be held on October 10, 2025. (Friday).
