New Delhi, Aug 18: Infosys Chief Operating Officer (COO) UB Pravin Rao has been named as the Interim Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the firm after Vishal Sikka resigned from the post. He has now been appointed as the Executive Vice Chairman. In his resignation letter, Sikka said, “Over the last many months and quarters, we have all been besieged by false, baseless, malicious and increasingly personal attacks. Following the report of Sikka‘s resignation, Infosys’ shares tanked 6 per cent. In a letter to all stock exchanges, Infosys has said that it has accepted Sikka’s resignation with immediate effect.
