Western Railway, Konkan Railway to Run Special Diwali 2017 Trains to Various Destinations: List of Services

To avoid the festive rush, it was also decided to stop selling platform tickets in case there was a massive rush while additional reservation windows have been opened.

Mumbai, October 9: For the convenience of passengers during the festive occasion of Diwali and with a view to meet the travel demand during the season, the Western Railway will run five special trains on a special fare to various destinations with total 64 services. The Indian Railways has planned to run 4,000 special trains for the festive season. On September 19, Minister of State, Railways, Manoj Sinha said, “In the next 40 days, we will celebrate the Durga Puja, Dussehra, Diwali and Chhath. So, we are introducing additional trains to facilitate holiday travelling between October 15 and October 30”. Sinha had said the ministry was also considering cancelling the leave of all the staff to deal with the holiday rush. Last year, the railways had run 3,800 special trains during the festival season.

Special trains o­n special fare to various destinations with total 64 services as detailed below:

1.09041/09042 Udhna – Patna Superfast Special Train on Special fare (4 days a week) [32 services]

Train No. 09041 Udhna-Patna Superfast Special train will leave Udhna at 19.30 hrs o¬n everyWednesday, Thursday, Saturday & Sunday and will reach Patna at 23.00 hrs, o¬n the next respective days. This train will run from 11th October to 5th November, 2017. Similarly, in return direction Train No. 09042 Patna – Udhna Superfast Special train will leave Patna at 03.00 hrs o¬n every Friday, Saturday, Monday & Tuesday and will reach Udhna at 06.20 hrs, the next respective days. This train will run from 13th October to 7th November 2017.

The train will have AC II Tier, AC III Tier, Sleeper Class & II Class General coaches. This train will halt at Nandurbar, Bhusawal, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna, Chheoki, Mughalsarai, Buxar, Ara and Danapur stations in both directions.

2. 09039/09040 Udhna- Allahabad Weekly Superfast Special Train on Special fare [8 services]

Train No. 09039 Udhna-Allahabad Weekly Superfast Special train will leave Udhna at 08.50 hrs o¬n every Thursday and will reach Allahabad at 07.30 hrs, o¬n the next day. This train will run from 12th October to 2nd November, 2017.

Similarly, in return direction Train No. 09040 Allahabad – Udhna Weekly Superfast Special train will leave Allahabad at 10.30 hrs o¬n every Friday and will reach Udhna at 09.10 hrs, the next day. This train will run from 13th October to 3rd November, 2017. The train will have AC II Tier, AC III Tier, Sleeper Class & II Class General coaches.  This train will halt at Nandurbar, Bhusawal, Khandwa, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni, Satna and Manikpur stations in both directions.

3. 09103/09104 Vadodara – Allahabad Weekly Superfast Special Train on Special fare (08 services)

Train No. 09103 Vadodara – Allahabad Weekly Superfast Special train will leave Vadodara at 19.50 hrs o¬n every Sunday and will reach Allahabad at 19.00 hrs, on next day. This train will run from 15th October to 5th November 2017. Similarly, in return direction Train No. 09104 Allahabad – Vadodara Weekly Superfast Special train will leave Allahabad at 21.30 hrs o¬n every Monday and will reach Vadodara at 22.15 hrs, the next day. This train will run from 16th October to 6th November 2017. The train will have I AC, AC II Tier, Sleeper Class, II Class General coaches and Pantry car. This train will halt at Bharuch, Surat, Nandurbar, Bhusawal, Itarsi, Jabalpur, Katni and Satna stations in both directions.

4. 09031/09032 Bandra (T)- Jaisalmer Weekly Superfast Special Train on Special fare (8 services)

Train No. 09031 Bandra (T)-Jaisalmer Weekly Superfast Special train will leave Bandra (T) at 00.15 hrs o¬n every Friday and will reach Jaisalmer at 21.20 hrs, o¬n the same day. This train will run from 13th October to 3rd November, 2017. Similarly, in return direction Train No. 09032 Jaisalmer-Bandra(T) Weekly Superfast Special train will leave Jaisalmer at 23.50 hrs o¬n every Friday and will reach Bandra(T) at 22.30 hrs, the next day. This train will run from 13th October to 3rd November, 2017.

The train will have AC III Tier coaches and Pantry car. This train will halt at Borivali, Vapi, Valsad, Surat, Bharuch, Vadodara, Anand, Nadiad, Ahmedabad, Mehsana, Palanpur, Abu Road, Jawai Bandh, Falna, Rani, Marwar, Pali Marwar, Luni, Jodhpur, Phalodi Jn and Ramdevra stations in both directions.

5. 09415/09416 Ahmedabad-Secunderabad Weekly Superfast Special Train on Special fare (via Vasai Road) (8 services)

Train No. 09415 Ahmedabad-Secunderabad Weekly Superfast Special train will leave Ahmedabad at 23.25 hrs o¬n every Friday and will reach Secunderabad at 21.40 hrs, on the next day. This train will run from13th October to 3rd November, 2017. Similarly, in return direction Train No. 09416 Secunderabad-Ahmedabad Weekly Superfast Special train will leave at 23.50 hrs o¬n every Saturday and will reach Ahmedabad at 23.15 hrs, the next day. This train will run from 14th October to 4th November, 2017.

The train will have AC III Tier coaches and Pantry car. This train will halt at Nadiad, Anand, Vadodara, Bharuch, Surat, Valsad, Vapi, Vasai Road, Bhivandi Road, Kalyan, Karjat, Lonavala, Pune, Daund Jn., Solapur, Gulberga, Wadi and Begampet stations in both directions.

Konkan Railways:

Special Diwali trains will also be run by Konkan Railways. It has been decided to run special trains between Mumbai CSMT – Kochuveli – Mumbai CSMT to clear extra rush of passengers during Diwali festival.

Train No. 01079 / 01080 Mumbai CSMT – Kochuveli – Mumbai CSMT Special:

• Train No. 01079 Mumbai CSMT – Kochuveli Special will leave from Mumbai CSMT at 00:20 Hrs on Tuesday (on 17/10/2017 & 24/10/2017). Train will reach  Kochuveli at 09:00 Hrs on next day.
• Train No. 01080 Kochuveli – Mumbai CSMT Special will leave from Kochuveli at 12:00 Hrs on Wednesday (on 18/10/2017 & 25/10/2017). Train will reach Mumbai CSMT at 22:15 Hrs on next day.
• Composition: Total 16 Coaches : Sleeper – 14 Coaches, SLR – 02 Coach.

The Train will halt at Dadar, Thane, Panvel, Roha, Khed, Chiplun, Sangameshwar Road, Ratnagiri, Kankavli, Kudal, Thivim, Karmali, Madgaon Jn., Karwar, Kumta, Bhatkal, Kundapura, Udupi, Mulki, Suratkal, Mangalore Jn., Kasargod, Kannur, Thalassery, Kozhikkode, Tirur, Shoranur Jn., Thrisur, Aluva, Ernakulam Town, Kottayam, Tiruvalla, Chengannur, Kayankulam and Kollam stations.

Meanwhile, extra security teams will be deployed at the stations to keep a check on the illegal agents and vendor. In 2016, railways had registered 1,654 cases during the festive season and taken disciplinary action against 693 of its staffers.
