Jewar Airport: The Noida International Airport in Jewar, Gautam Buddha Nagar, will begins operations in April this year, boosting connectivity in the busiest city in the Delhi-NCR region. Flight operations at the Noida airport, also known as Jewar Airport are expected to begin as soon April 2025, and the Airport Authority has also handed a 30-year oil supply contract.
According to reports, the contract for supplying fuel to the airport has not been bagged by any private player like Mukesh Ambani-led Reliance, Gautam Adani, or Tata Group, but to Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), the government-owned oil and gas company. As per the contract, IndianOil will provide fuel services at the Noida International Airport (NIA) at Jewar in Gautam Buddh Nagar district of Uttar Pradesh, the airport operator said in a statement.
According to the statement, the IOCL will operate fuel stations at three locations on the airport premises under a 30-year concession agreement– one near the main western approach road, a second at the airside for airport operations, and a third station near the eastern cargo complex.
“The collaboration with IndianOil is a major milestone in the airport’s march towards operational readiness, and will ensure seamless and efficient fuel services at the airport for the foreseeable future,” said Noida International Airport (NIA) CEO, Christoph Schnellmann, adding that the airport is expected to be inaugurated early in financial year 2025-26, and flight operations will likely begin in April this year.
Notably, while IndianOil has bagged the oil supply contract for Noida Airport aka the Jewar Airport, other companies will provide other types of fuel at the facility. Tata Group’s Tata Power will supply wind and solar energy, while Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), will provide air turbine fuel (ATF), at the NIA, the statement said.
