No More WORK FROM HOME? This company introduces new rule, asks employees to work from office atleast for…, staffs who fail will…

New Delhi: American technology giant Microsoft has introduced a new rule for its employees. As per the new rule introduced by the company, the employees will now be required to work from the office at least three days a week. The IT giant said that the new rule will be fully enforced from February 2026. Employees who fail to comply with it may see an impact on their career growth and could face difficulties in getting promotions or being assigned to important projects.

It is important to note that the employees who do not work from the office will see a negative impact on their performance reviews. They will not be eligible for promotions nor get opportunities to work on important projects.

As per a report by the Times of India, Microsoft stated that working face-to-face leads to better ideas and helps teams deliver stronger results together, especially in emerging fields like AI (Artificial Intelligence).

Microsoft’s Three-phase Plan:

  • By September 2025, employees in the Seattle area will be required to follow this rule.
  • After that, it will be enforced in other offices across the United States.
  • Finally, by February 2026, the rule will be implemented in all international offices worldwide.

The company has said that the new rules will not apply to certain roles such as account management, consulting, and field marketing, since employees in these positions are required to spend most of their time working with clients outside.
