Following the move, panicked customers were seen queuing up at the bank’s ATMs at various locations, but to no avail as most money-dispensing machines did not have cash.
Meanwhile, the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on late Sunday night arrested Yes Bank founder Rana Kapoor under money laundering charges in Mumbai after he was interrogated by the agency for over 15 hours about bank loans to Dewan Housing Finance Limited (DHFL).
He was placed under arrest around 3 am under the provision of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) as he was allegedly not cooperating in the probe, PTI reported quoting officials. He will be produced before a local court during the day.
