Posing naked during or after pregnancy is what the celebs do, any normal woman, or even Indian celebs like Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, would not do such a thing usually. But there are some women who find this act empowering and connect with it emotionally.
There is a new book with photographs taken by Jade Beall that show how women learn to love their changing physique over the course of time. Stretch marks, saggy stomach and loose skin are embraced and they are seen happily reconnecting with their bodies, overcoming the negative thoughts about their perceived imperfections.
These 80 women volunteered to be photographed nude and semi-nude with their babies to share their stories about childbirth and how their life changed phenomenally after that. A video of these pictures has been created to spread the message further.
The funding of this project was an issue since Beall didn’t have sufficient money to carry out the whole project. But after creating this home uploaded video, people pledged US$60,000 for pre-ordering her book. The book will be published on May 11, 2014 – Mother’s Day.
