After Tanmay Bhat stepped down from his association with AIB, a woman alleged that she was raped by AIB collaborator Babu Haabi. In a series of tweets, the woman alleged that she was forced to make out with Haabi who kept harassing her for nearly five months. The post was made in the light of the ongoing #MeToo movement on the social media.

The woman alleged that Babu Haabi, who she had met on social media, sexually abused her despite her “clear discomfort”. She wrote, “…when I put my foot down and told him to back off..he said I was a prude and this is how ‘uncool’ Indian women are.” The victim further added that Haabi kept addressing her with obscene words.

The development, as reported by CNN News 18 channel, came hours after All India Bakchod (AIB) asked CEO and co-founder Tanmay Bhat to step away from his association with the company. Bhat is facing accusations that he didn’t act when the sexual harassment complaints were made against ex-AIB member Utsav Chakraborty.

Announcing the “temporary” exit of Tanmay Bhat and Gursimran Khamba, the group said, “Truthfully we do not know what this means for the future of AIB or whether there is one.” Along with Tanmay, Khamba was also asked to “go on leave” following allegations of sexual harassment against him on social media.
