The much awaited video of the newly founded ‘people’s capital’ of Andhra Pradesh — Amaravati — is on social media, and the way it has been shot and promoted, it does promise new hope and opportunity. In the video, the nature, culture and the latest innovations combined together boosts the effort and dream of chief minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu, who had promised to make Andhra Pradesh a travel cum investment destination in next ten years.
The foundation stone laying ceremony took place in Uddandarayunipalem village on the banks of river Krishna of Guntur district by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday. The event was organised on the auspicious day of Dussehra, in the presence of 17 VVIPs including Union Minister Venkaiah Naidu, Union Minister Bhandaru Dattatreya, Union Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, Telangana Chief Minsiter K Chandrasekhara Rao and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal, AP and Tamil Nadu governors E S L Narasimhan and K Rosaiah. The capital which is 40 kilometres away from Vijaywada, has also been termed as the rising city in the south. The new capital is centrally located and easily accessible north and south, coastal districts and the Rayalaseema region. The city will be spread over 54,000 acres and as per the reports, in 10 years it will have the state secretariat, high court and legislative assembly, among other things.
