Ahead of its release on Friday (April 26), Hollywood superhero film “Avengers: Endgame” has sold over 2.5 million tickets in advance sales on BookMyShow, an Indian entertainment destination. This marks the highest ever advance ticket sales for a Hollywood film on the platform. “Avengers: Endgame” is also the fastest film to have surpassed the two million advance ticket sales mark on BookMyShow, read a statement. As per the BookMyShow, they witnessed apeak of 18 tickets sold per second. Ashish Saksena, Chief Operating Officer – Cinemas, BookMyShow, said in a statement issued “We expect Avengers: Endgame to break more records as cinemas continue to open the advance bookings.”

Avengers: Endgame is the 22nd film from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the latest afterCaptain Marvel, which released last month. The film stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Brie Larson, amongst others.

In the trailer of Avengers: Endgame, Marvel heroes can be seen fighting Thanos. The trailer is set after the destructive battle of Wakanda in which Thanos wipes of half of the population and has left Marvel superheroes Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr), Captain America (Chris Evans), Thor (Chris Hemsworth) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johanasson) scrambling for a way to defeat the supervillain Mad Titan.
