The annual observance of the very significant Black History Month has begun since February has already started. The Black Achievement Month which is also called African-American History Month is an annual observance and is celebrated every year in the United States of America. The observance is meant to acknowledge and celebrate the achievements and triumphs of Black individuals who overcame racism and the stigma around skin colour. President Donald Trump in a very scathing remark called the African countries as “shithole countries” and because of this, the people are celebrating observance with zeal. An initiative was started by comedian Dennis Banks on Twitter with the hashtag #BlackMenSmiling and the tweets and pictures from Twitterati are truly heartwarming and have flooded Twitter.
On Friday, February 1, 2018, Dennis Banks started the Black History Month with a beautiful campaign which highlighted the hashtag #BlackMenSmiling. He asked people to share cheery and happy photos to normalize happy and asked people to share big goofy smiles. Twitter users obliged the comedian Dennis Banks with some awesomely happy and cheery photos which also included one of former US President Barack Obama. Even Black celebrities took to the movement and shared some amazingly happy photographs. Dennis Bank wrote, “Today let’s share some pics of #BlackMenSmiling. Like big goofy smiles. Happy (even if just for a moment) with life smiles. Normalize happy. #BlackHistoryMonth where your teeth at?” 9-year-old Girl Dressed up as Michelle Obama for School Project, Former First Lady Gives A+ After Getting Impressed With Photo

The tweet did not only flooded the micro-blogging site with beautiful pictures of #BlackMenSmiling but also opened gates on discussion that it is not often that you see a Black man smiling in front of a camera, and even Dennis Banks had an afterthought about the trend that he started.
