The Bombay High court has ordered Central Bureau of Investigation to probe into Jiah Khan murder case. Thirteen months after actress Jiah Khan was found dead in her Mumbai home, the case has been handed over to the CBI. The court ruling came on a plea filed by Jiah’s mother Rabia Khan last October seeking a probe by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) since the circumstances supported homicide theory.

A division bench of Justice VM Kanade and Justice PD Kode has asked the CBI to carry out the further investigation of the case to know whether it was a suicide or homicide.

US citizen, Jiah Khan, 25, was found dead in her Juhu residence late June 3, 2013 in a case of apparent suicide. Police later recovered a suicide note apparently penned by her. Police had subsequently arrested Jiah’s boyfriend, Sooraj Pancholi, son of actor Aditya Pancholi, for allegedly abetting Jiah’s suicide.

Not satisfied with the probe, Rabia Khan had moved the high court and submitted reports by independent forensic experts to support her theory of homicide in Jiah Khan’s case.
