Undefeated Kolkata Knight Riders face Hobart Hurricanes in 1st semi-final of the Champions League T20 2014. Both teams have it in them to give each other a tough time and close encounter is on cards. 1. Robin Uthappa
This right-hand opening batsman has had a prolific season so far. After clobbering bowlers in Indian Premier League (IPL) he continues to be an impactful player at the top. Uthappa proficiently architects the KKR innings and makes sure he performs his required task. In semi-final against Hurricanes Uthappais key to KKR’s success, his blazing innings could very well decide the course of the match.
2. Sunil Narine
He is the leader of KKR’s bowling attack and has singlehandedly won his team matches. He is economical and wicket-taker as always and Narine knows his importance in the team. What makes him a standout performer is his variations and ability to hold nerve. Narine has been reported for suspect bowling action and his quicker ball is under scrutiny, but that will not bother him as he gets ready to spin hurricanes into trouble.
3. Suryakumar Yadav
He is fast emerging as potential ‘home-grown’ match winner for KKR. Suryakumar Yadav is an exciting young middle order batsman and comes into the team as a finisher. Having already won KKR a match with his bat against Perth Scorchers, buoyant Yadav will be itching to contribute in the big match as well.
4. Aiden Blizzard
Hurricanes batsman Aiden Blizzard has been the top run getter for his side in CLT20 2014 so far with 188 runs under his belt at an average of 62.66 and has a strike rate of 141.35. Blizzard who bats at number three is cleanest hitter of the ball and Hurricanes will love to see him in his own flow.
5. Shoaib Malik
Another important member in Hurricanes’ team is Pakistani import Shoaib Malik. Being a sub-continental player his role in the team doubles and he will be crucial in facing the KKR’s perilous spin attack.
