Google has marked the start of Commonwealth Games 2014 in Glasgow by sporting a Google doodle on the homepage. The Commonwealth Games is an international, multi-sport event involving athletes form the Commonwealth of Nations. The 2014 Commonwealth Games will be officially held in Glasgow, Scotland from July 23 to August 3, 2014.

Unlike previous Google doodles for FIFA World Cup 2014, the Commonwealth Games 2014 Google doodle is not an interactive one. The doodle lacks any animation and is just represented in form of a simple image of the athletes including wrestlers, cyclists, hammer thrower, badminton players and bowler. The athletes are forming a pattern to represent the logo of Google.

The third largest multi-sport event Commonwealth Games was formerly known as British Empire Games from 1930 to 1950, British Empire and Commonwealth Games from 1854 to 1966 and British Commonwealth Games from 1970-1974.
