Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau heartily offered best Eid al-Fitr wishes to all Muslims celebrating the joyous festival worldwide. Eid al-Fitr, which means ‘festival of breaking the fast’, marks the end of the Muslim holy fasting month of Ramadan, saw Trudeau wishing everyone Eid Mubarak. The popular world leader posted a video on his Facebook page that saw him share Eid greetings and also a glimpse of his and Canada’s loving and accepting nature during the month of Ramadan. The 45-year-old Canadian politician can be seen happily lending a helping hand at a Muslim Welfare Centre. Ramadan 2017 which began on May 27 continued till June 24, with Saudi Arabia declaring Sunday (June 25) first day of Eid al-Fitr. The Facebook Post reads: “Happy Eid al-Fitr! The community spirit I felt at Ramadan food banks in Montreal and Toronto reminds us all – no matter our backgrounds, we’re in this together.” The Canadian Prime Minister recounted his visit to an international NGO, Islamic Relief Canada, which is committed to alleviating poverty in over 30 different countries around the globe. The famous world leader is seen actively participating in packing food items for the needy Muslims in order for them to observe fast during Ramadan just like the other fortunate ones. Prime Minister Justin Trudeau also issued the statement, offering best wishes on the occasion of Eid-al-Fitr, “Tonight at sunset, Muslims in Canada and around the world will celebrate Eid al-Fitr,also known as the festival of breaking of the fast. Eid al-Fitr is one of the most important religious holidays for the Muslim community, and marks the end of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan.
